    Lionesses Bring it Home

The Arena at Poacher 2022 was a riot of anticipation on Sunday evening as many of the participants and staff gathered to watch the English Lionesses take on Germany in the EUFA finals.

The crowd was full of chants of "England, England, England... " and cheers of joy for saves and dismay for misses. The party atmosphere was infectious. At sixty minutes the Lionesses scored their first goal. The crowd were jumping, swinging their neckers and screaming at the top of their lungs. By the end of extra time the gathered 2000 or so young people knew the result and counted down to the final whistle and erupted into wild celebrations.

Naomi also from 1st Woodborough Scouts on Carnival Fest said it’ll “inspire young girls to join in with football.”

I’ve been involved with Girlguiding since I was 7 and I am currently a leader with both Guides and Rainbows. Poacher 2022 is my third Poacher having attended as a participant and as part of the Technical Services team before. I am looking forward to learning new skills and hearing the stories my Guides have to tell of their Adventure of a Lifetime.
