With Scouting and Guiding groups restarting face to face meetings in coming weeks, we are thinking about all of the things we are most excited about at Poacher 2022.
Here are 5 reasons we just can't wait for Poacher!
1) A week of adventure
We have hundreds of activities to choose from at Poacher, something for everyone. The memories you make at Poacher will last a lifetime, from adventurous activities to creative activities and of course our water village... enjoy a whole week of adventures!
2) Spectacular performances
Poacher 2022 will start with a bang! Our opening ceremony is a mix of a formal and party atmosphere, it's where you get to fully appreciate the scale of the event. We also have a jam-packed programme of entertainments with lunchtime displays in the arena, evening entertainment and performances. Then there's the closing ceremony, a celebration to round off your week, with exciting performances, a hug party and a spectacular fireworks display.
3) Meeting new people
Over the past year, we have all missed spending time with friends and meeting new people. Poacher 2022 will bring Scouts and Guides together for an exciting week of adventure, it's a great place to form friendships to last a lifetime. After so much time staying apart from each other, Poacher 2022 will be a chance to enjoy a whole week of making new friends and meeting up with old ones.
4) Camping
There's nothing quite like crawling into a sleeping bag at the end of a full day of fun, with tomorrow's activities right on your doorstep and surrounded by your Scouting and Guiding friends. Camping goes hand in hand with adventure and we can't wait to see the Showground transformed into a campsite the size of a village!
5) Challenging yourself
From trapeze to canoeing and crafts to circus skills, Poacher is all about trying something new and rising to new challenges. You can even get a special Poacher Challenge badge! We love seeing the huge smiles on the faces of all of our participants at the end of each day, proud that they have tried something new and filled with excitement. What will you challenge yourself to?
The countdown is on to Poacher 2022 and we cannot wait to welcome you! As face-to-face Scouting and Guiding returns, we are looking forward to the adventure of a lifetime.
